Notes

Note 1

Iris was born and raised in Chicago and moved to Los Angeles in 1961. She worked both in Chicago and Los Angeles as a legal secretary. She and Mort met in 1962 and married in 1963. After the birth of their first child, she "retired" to raise the children.

She became active in the community, primarily through the synagogue they joined where for many years she was on the Board and eventually became the Sisterhood President.

Since 1988 she has become very active with the Women's League for Conservative Judaism and is presently a trainer and consultant with the organization.

She was a paraprofessional counselor and has lectured and held workshops, and continues to do so for Women's League.

For 4 years, she was an interviewer for Steven Spielberg's Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation.
